eBay has announced a major change affecting all sellers from August, with the rollout of a new international shipping service. From next month, eligible sellers will be enrolled in eBay's International Shipping scheme (EIS), enabling them to ship items worldwide instead of just within the UK.
How the New Scheme Works
When a seller's account updates to the new EIS, they will simply ship sold items to eBay's UK hub as usual. eBay will then handle customs documentation, tax and duty calculations, international delivery, carrier management, and post-sale support. If an international buyer requests a return, eBay will manage the process and refund the buyer at no cost to the seller, protecting the seller and ensuring the item is not returned to them.
Open to All Sellers
The programme is open to all sellers, from individuals selling items as a side hustle or to clear unwanted items, to established businesses looking to reach new customers worldwide. eBay says it has listened to seller feedback to make this its most comprehensive international shipping solution yet.

eBay has stated that as soon as a seller's account is enrolled, they will receive an email confirmation with details. Until then, sellers do not need to take any action.
