Amazon has announced five new devices, including the all-new Echo Time, a smart alarm clock with a circular screen that displays a clock face. The screen can be customised with hundreds of faces and can also show the weather and currently playing music. It uses Omnisense technology.
Echo Time features and price
The Echo Time includes an optional smart alarm setting that wakes users during lighter sleep, within 10 to 60 minutes before the set time. As the alarm approaches, a sunrise-inspired display brightens to ease waking, and the tone builds energy with each snooze. It is priced at £184.99.
Upgraded Echo Dot and Echo Show
A refreshed Echo Dot is more powerful and ready for the Alexa+ assistant. Its redesigned driver delivers 50 percent more bass than the previous generation, and it includes a built-in smart home hub with support for Zigbee, Matter, and Thread. It costs £94.99 and comes in colours including Agave Green and Coral Pink.
The premium Echo Show gets an update with a camera, acting as a smart security device to see what is happening when away. Alexa's visual intelligence can re-order a product by showing packaging to the camera. A dedicated button disables the camera and microphones, and an LED turns on when the camera is streaming to the cloud. Sound comes from three custom drivers, a high-excursion woofer, and Dolby Atmos.
Kids editions and availability
Amazon is also updating its kids range with special editions of Echo Dot and Echo Time that include colour cases and a year of Kids+. These start from £104.99.
