Nottingham Forest have rejected a second bid from Manchester City for midfielder Elliot Anderson, worth £106 million plus add-ons. The add-ons could take the total value above £120 million, but Forest are holding out for a higher guaranteed fee, according to The Athletic.
Forest are demanding a British transfer record fee for the 23-year-old, surpassing the £125 million Liverpool paid Newcastle United for Alexander Isak last summer. The club only intends to sell Anderson if the guaranteed amount exceeds that record.
Anderson joined Forest from Newcastle for £35 million in 2024, and his value has soared over the past two seasons. Manchester United are also interested in the England international, but are unlikely to outbid City in what would be an expensive bidding war.
United have other midfield targets, including Atalanta's Ederson, West Ham's Mateus Fernandes, Brighton's Carlos Baleba, Bournemouth's Alex Scott, and Lazio's Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Despite recent reports suggesting United chiefs were optimistic about signing Anderson, Forest's stance makes that seem unlikely.
