Tickets for Glastonbury 2027 sold out within 42 minutes on Sunday morning, as hundreds of thousands of people battled online to secure a place at the Somerset festival.
The event returns to Worthy Farm from June 23 next year after a two-year break to allow the land to recover. Around 200,000 people are expected to attend the UK's biggest festival for five days of entertainment.
With demand far exceeding supply, many fans were left disappointed after the sale opened at 9am. By 9.42am all tickets had been sold, with SeeTickets sharing an update on X: "Tickets for @Glastonbury Festival 2027 are now SOLD OUT. Confirmation emails are going out now. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets this morning and sorry to those who missed out."
Fans criticise green bars
Many disappointed fans hit out at the queue system, particularly the green progress bars. Writing on X, @Sha423406885781 said: "Joke of a system. Please get rid of the bars next year! We are either in or we are not. 42 minutes of anxiety."
@andytoon30 added: "Need a better system… sick of seeing the 2 bars for 45 minutes. Mine never moved", while @MMJC356371 said: "3 devices logged in 1 got third of the way up the queue other two stayed on two bars".
@MrMin92061521 wrote: "Grand total of 2.4 bars. New pb for me trying for the last 8years."
Some praise the system
However, others praised the queue system. @BrightonMart wrote: "A much much fairer #Glastonbury booking system this year. I got kicked out twice on my phone, found and fired up my ancient ipad and it seems your registration number saves the place in the queue regardless - Glasto 2027 here I come!"
And @Blakeyreturns3 wrote: "Didn’t manage to get any which is disappointing but I do think the tweaks made this year make the process fairer."
Headliners yet to be announced
Following a fallow year, the headliners for the 2027 festival are yet to be announced. Despite heavy speculation from fans, both Oasis and organiser Emily Eavis have confirmed the band are not lined up to perform.
Last week the band – which includes brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher – announced a series of shows across the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US in 2027, with a gap at the time when Glastonbury is being held. While Oasis are set to play concerts at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium on the Friday and Saturday of Glastonbury, they do not currently have one of their own gigs scheduled on the Sunday.
Responding to a fan on Instagram who begged "please say you’ve got Oasis", Eavis replied: "Sorry Jimmy, not this time!" In August, Liam also hit back after an Oasis fan account suggested there was a high likelihood the band could play Worthy Farm again. The original post read: "According to The Scotsman, Oasis are among the favourites to headline Glastonbury 2027, with odds of 4/1. Could we see them return to the Pyramid Stage?"
The 53-year-old replied: "It’s not HAPPENING so all you croc wearing flag waving shit c**** can calm the f*** down." The 1975, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, and Olivia Rodrigo headlined the 2025 festival.
