Aldi has been named the UK's Cheapest Supermarket for September 2026 by consumer champion Which?, marking the eleventh consecutive month it has held the title. The supermarket has also been awarded the Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) Fruit & Veg Retailer of the Year, a double win that the retailer is celebrating with a giveaway of £100 shopping vouchers to 10 winners.
Price gap widens
The latest Which? analysis shows the price gap between Aldi and its competitors continues to widen. Shoppers have saved more than £330 so far this year by choosing Aldi over rival supermarkets.
According to Which?, a basket of 93 items at Aldi cost £159.48, saving shoppers up to £28.23 compared to Tesco, £29.47 compared to Sainsbury's, £33.45 compared to Morrisons (even with loyalty discounts applied) and £63.90 compared to Waitrose.
