The Volkswagen T-Roc has been named the best SUV on UK roads by car expert Luke Chillingsworth, who says he would snap one up today if he had the cash.

Chillingsworth praised the T-Roc's 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild hybrid assistance, noting smooth acceleration and effortless handling in Comfort mode. In Sport mode, the suspension stiffens and steering becomes more responsive.
The enhanced safety systems are unobtrusive, gently steering drivers back into lane rather than delivering a violent jolt.

The T-Roc offers 475 litres of boot space, comfortable seating, and spacious footspace. It features a 12.9-inch infotainment display that runs smoothly, allowing easy switching between navigation, radio, and settings. A digital heads-up display projected onto the windscreen is available as an optional extra.

The entry-level 'Life' model is priced at £31,620, while the top R-Line model costs £39,000. Fuel economy is around 50 miles per gallon, keeping running costs low.
