The This Works Advanced Red Light System, now on sale for £144 instead of £244, is winning praise from shoppers who report visibly thicker hair and new regrowth, with some saying their hairdressers have been 'amazed' by the difference.
The bundle includes three red light power serums that target the face, body and scalp for up to six months, plus two red light duo body wraps valued at £100. The £100 discount effectively makes the body wraps free, according to the retailer.
How the red light system works
The body wraps use clinically proven 660nm red and 850nm near-infrared light and can be used anywhere on the body. The Red Light Power Serums contain CoQ10 and restorative hydrators, which the brand says boost cellular receptivity and work with the wraps to leave skin lifted, smooth and luminous while nourishing the scalp for thicker hair.
In a three-month brand study, 100% of participants said their skin felt smoother after using the serum, 69% reported firmer skin with the red light body wrap duo, 73% said their hair looked healthier, and 83% saw improved skin condition when combining both.
Shopper results and reviews
The system holds a 4.3-star rating from almost 30 reviews. One five-star reviewer wrote: "I still feel amazed by the results I am seeing; my hair is hardly falling out (I do still have some days with more shedding, although most days there is virtually nothing). My hairline actually looks and feels fuller and for the first time in years, my hair actually feels like it is getting some weight to it and is starting to grow."
The same reviewer added: "Even my hairdresser is amazed by the difference. I have had a few days in the last month where I have had really great sleep after using the device, too, although as a whole I wouldn't say that my sleep is much better overall. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has lost confidence in themselves because of thinning hair and I most definitely agree that This Works!"
Another user noted: "Hairdresser commented on how many baby hairs and new hairs were evident on my last visit."
Drawbacks and alternatives
Some users found the serum left hair feeling oily. One reviewer said: "I like this - I think it's making my hair grow quicker as I have noticed my greys are coming through faster between dyes! I wouldn't use it every day as it makes my hair very greasy and I don't want to have to wash my hair every day - I would say twice a week would be optimal for my hair type."
Another user praised results but noted the wrap was awkward to wear on the head: "It is definitely working. My hair density is improving. I'm shedding less. I just wish you could make it easier to wear as it is really awkward."
For those wanting a scalp-only option, the StylPro Red Light LED Headband is available for £69.99 at Lookfantastic, while UKLASH's Hair Growth Serum costs £40 and uses AnaGain (Pea Sprout Extract), Phytic Acid, Turmeric and Lemon Fruit Water to stimulate growth and reduce hair loss.
