Shoppers are turning to the Shark Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, now priced at £150 down from £229.99 at Shark, with some saying they have replaced their old Dyson with it. The deal saves buyers around £80.
The vacuum has drawn attention for its ability to handle pet hair, a common frustration for households with dogs and cats. Its lightweight design is easy to manoeuvre around furniture and carry between rooms.
Features Designed for Pet Owners
A standout feature is the self-cleaning Anti Hair Wrap brush-roll, which picks up long hair and pet fur without tangling around the brush. The vacuum also includes FloorDetect Technology, which automatically adjusts the brush-roll speed when moving between carpets and hard floors, helping with everything from crumbs on kitchen tiles to fur in rugs.
It offers up to 40 minutes of cordless runtime and can transform into a handheld vacuum for smaller spaces. A crevice tool helps reach awkward corners, and HEPA filtration with Complete Seal is designed to trap more than 99.97% of dust and allergens under specified test conditions.
What Shoppers Are Saying
One reviewer wrote: “Purchased to replace ageing Dyson corded animal vacuum cleaner. Have been researching the effectiveness of Dyson v Shark cordless units. Whilst nothing seems to deep clean and pick up as well as my corded Dyson, this machine is effective in picking up the daily grind of dog and cat hair!”
Another said: “Really pleased with our vacuum, really good how it detects different floor surfaces and changes it accordingly. Really easy to empty and very easy to store. Would highly recommend it.” A third added: “This is a sturdy, efficient cleaner, extremely pleased - I would recommend this.”
Mixed Feedback and Alternatives
Some shoppers were less impressed. One noted: “I am pleased with the suction of the cleaner. The weight of the handheld vacuum on the straight wand means I either have to lean it against something or detach it, which I’m guessing in time would cause a problem. Also, the battery does not detach from the handheld vacuum as suggested in the instructions, so I have to charge it in situ.”
Another commented: “Works efficiently on carpet and on hard surfaces. Pity there’s only a crevice tool, as one for stairs would be extremely useful. Otherwise, pleased with the purchase.”
For those considering other options, the Dyson Cyclone V10 Total Clean Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is priced at £279, down from £449 at Currys, offering a 60-minute run time and four accessories. At Amazon, a Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Stick is available for £67.99, reduced from £174.99, with up to 60 minutes of runtime in standard mode and three suction modes.
