Marks & Spencer has announced the return of its popular Gingerbread & White Chocolate Cookies, a fan-favourite that first launched in 2024 and was brought back last autumn and Christmas season. The store confirmed the news on its official Instagram page, posting: "@marksandspencerfood Gingerbread & White Chocolate Cookies are BACK this year!!!" and adding that they will be available in stores from early September.
A seasonal hit returns
The gooey cookies combine warming gingerbread, creamy white chocolate chunks, and a hint of salted caramel fudge, giving a Christmas feel. The announcement comes just a week after M&S discontinued its summer-inspired white chocolate and raspberry cookies, which left shoppers disappointed.
Last year, the gingerbread cookies often sold out within minutes of being added to bakery shelves due to high demand, with several shoppers reporting difficulty finding them in their local M&S Foodhall stores.
Shoppers react
Hundreds of people commented on the Instagram post, with most praising the return. One person wrote: "Thank god these are my fave," while another said: "BEST NEWS EVEEEEEERRRRRR." A third commented: "I actually can’t wait. These were the best things ever!" Someone else joked: "No these can’t come back I’m gonna gain so much weight."
However, some felt it was too early for Christmas-themed cookies, with one commenter arguing: "In August? Come on M&S...do better...it's still summer time! Leave it until October."
Price details
While M&S did not reveal this year's price, last year the cookies cost £3.25 for a pack of five. The company's packs of five bakery cookies usually range from £1.20 to £3.90, depending on the flavour.
