Morrisons customers will soon be able to enjoy a Harry Ramsden's chippy tea while doing their weekly shop, thanks to a new partnership. From August 10, 32 Morrisons cafés across the UK will begin serving the chain's 'world famous' fish and chips under its 'Proudly Serving' model, with potential for a nationwide rollout if it proves popular.
Building on Existing Relationship
The move builds on an existing relationship between the two retailers, after a chilled range of Harry Ramsden's favourites hit the supermarket's shelves last year. Now though, shoppers don't need to wait until they get home to enjoy the brand's signature battered fish, chunky chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, and gravy.
Founded in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, in 1928, Harry Ramsden's is Britain's oldest restaurant chain — and arguably one of its best-known. But from a previous peak of 50 standalone outlets around the country, this total now sits at eight, with parent company Deep Blue focusing more on product licensing and global franchising since its 2019 acquisition.
Executives Comment on Partnership

Working with Morrisons allows us to extend the reach of our iconic fish and chips through a trusted national retailer, while maintaining the quality and heritage that the brand is known for.'
Will Reed, Morrisons' senior café trading manager, added: 'We wanted to bring something nostalgic and full of flavour by delivering the comforting taste of a classic chippy tea – with generous portions at great value.'

Burger Boi Expansion
Harry Ramsden's isn't the only new addition to Morrisons' eat-in offering. After an 'exceptional' response to the December launch of an in-store Burger Boi restaurant at its Manchester Piccadilly branch, the supermarket has now announced plans for six more across the UK. The new concessions will feature the brand's Californian-inspired smashed burgers and fried chicken, with popular menu items like the American Boi and Hot Honey Smash available for sit-down dining, takeaway, or delivery.
So far, Wood Green and Watford are the only locations to be officially confirmed, but Burger Boi founder Surj Bassi said the partnership aims to target 'convenient, high-footfall' spots.
