Supermarket chain Morrisons has confirmed that its Blue Light Card discount is now available in cafes across 343 stores in the UK. The 10% discount is valid seven days a week for members of the emergency services and other eligible professions, with no minimum spend required.
How the Discount Works
The discount applies throughout opening hours, allowing customers to enjoy a variety of meals while saving money. Blue Light Card holders simply need to show their card at the till to receive the 10% reduction. The offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other membership scheme or discount card, excluding the More Card.
The Blue Light Card team states that members can save up to £3,126 annually through various discounts. The card costs £4.99 and is valid for two years.
Eligible Professions
The Blue Light Card is available to frontline workers, emergency responders, social care workers, and armed forces personnel. Eligible professions include:
- Police, fire and rescue, ambulance services
- HM Coastguard, RNLI, search and rescue
- HM Prison and Probation Service
- All NHS employees
- Social workers, care home staff, residential care workers
- Foster carers and professional personal carers
- Pharmacists, dentists and opticians
- Regular and reserved HM Armed Forces
- Veterans and retired personnel
- Home Office and MoD civil servants
- Teachers and education workers
- Red Cross and St John Ambulance
Additional Offers for Over-60s
Last year, Morrisons introduced ‘Club 60’, which provides exclusive deals to customers aged 60 and over. This includes a small breakfast available at any time of day for just £6, saving up to £2.50.
