Morphy Richards has cut the price of its Easy Time 6.5L Slow Cooker to £47.99 using the code BFCOOK40, down from the usual £79.99, saving shoppers £32. The appliance, which has been praised by buyers for cooking food 'beautifully', costs around 8p an hour to run based on the current price cap.

Features and capacity

The slow cooker has a 6.5L capacity, which the brand says is suited to hearty family meals, entertaining guests, or batch cooking for the week ahead. It offers low, medium and high heat settings, a built-in timer, and a keep warm function that holds meals at the 'perfect serving temperature' until they are needed.

The non-stick, hob-safe cooking pot allows users to brown meat and sauté vegetables before slow cooking to lock in flavour. Morphy Richards describes the model as ideal for 'anyone looking for the best slow cooker to simplify everyday cooking'. The appliance measures 33cm x 26.2cm x 23cm and weighs 2.8kg, with a power rating of 0.29kw.

Shopper feedback

Reviews have been largely positive. One buyer said: "I'm really pleased with this slow cooker. It was bigger than I expected but this makes it great for when I want to do batch cooking or if you have a large family. I love that the temperature auto adjusts according to the time you set, though you can still override it to self select, if wanted. It doesn't have to be on all day, you can use it for fewer hours. I only tried it for the lowest of eight hours and the longest of 10 so far, but the food cooked beautifully. The inner pot is metal rather than crockery, making it much lighter. It's ideal for me as I suffer with arthritis and struggle with anything heavy. I would definitely recommend this."

A second reviewer commented: "I bought the slow cooker a month ago and I wished I had replaced my antique one much sooner with it. Being able to use the pot on the hob first is a bonus and means less washing up, too. Having the different settings, and also the keep warm setting, means it's really versatile to use. The pot looks good enough to serve from at the table, and it cleans up easily, too. Favourite dishes cooked so far are coq au vin and beef in beer, both were succulent, full of flavour and tasted fab. Looking forward to experimenting and cooking more in the slow cooker."

One less satisfied customer noted: "Although it has a useful countdown set of lights, it would have had five stars had it been a digital time remaining display, like our older cooker." Another added: "I already had a small slow cooker, but I wanted a larger one to make batch meals. This one is so easy to use, even a 75-year-old male has no problem. Would recommend buying one."
