McDonald's has announced a major shake-up to its UK menu, introducing a new 'secret menu' from 5 January. The fast-food giant will offer items that customers have been requesting for years, including the long-awaited Big Mac sauce available as a 20p dipping pot.
The secret menu also features the return of the Chicken Big Mac, which uses two chicken patties instead of beef with the iconic Big Mac sauce. Another creation is the Surf N' Turf burger, a combination of beef and fish merging the classic Cheeseburger and Fillet O Fish. An Apple Pie Mini McFlurry, a popular customer hack, will also be available.
Ben Fox, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at McDonald's UK & Ireland, said: 'We’re really happy to now make The Secret Menu official, turning fan-favourite hacks into reality. Some of these mash ups shouldn’t work, but they are weirdly good and need to be tried to be believed.'
The Big Mac sauce pot, costing 20p, will be available for a limited time only from 5 January. Customers have been requesting this addition for years, with one Reddit user previously asking: 'Why don't they do it? Other countries do.'
