Manchester City opens biggest ever store at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City has opened its biggest ever store, a three-floor PUMA flagship located outside Etihad Stadium, as part of the £300m Medlock Square entertainment district.

The 21,000 sq ft space, the largest shop the club has opened in its 146-year history, launched on Thursday evening (November 4) and sits alongside restaurants, bars, experiences and The Medlock hotel.

Expanded range and exclusive merchandise

The store sells an expanded range of Manchester City products, including kits, training wear and lifestyle collections, as well as exclusive merchandise and memorabilia, including items previously only available at the Stadium Shop. It also offers items based on City Football Group clubs from around the world, including Palermo and Girona.

Serena Gosling, Director of Retail at City Football Group, told the Manchester Evening News: "We wanted to create an amazing new store that gives fans and visitors more to discover when they come to the Etihad Campus."

Fan-focused technology and events

The shop is built around the fan experience, featuring shirt personalisation printers and 'Make It Yours' stations where visitors can create their own patches on t-shirts and hoodies.

To mark its opening week, the opening night featured a VIP screening of the City v RB Leipzig game. This weekend includes interactive games, face painting, balloon art and the chance to see the club's trophies up close. Today (November 5), players Joe Hart and Steph Houghton will meet fans in-store until 1pm, with mascots Moonchester and Moonbeam also greeting visitors. Throughout the first day, there are chances to win prizes and buy from a limited-edition merchandise drop.

Museum Experience opening in December

The store opens a month before the new Manchester City Museum Experience, which will span ten spaces covering 1,700 square metres, offering fans a walk through the club's history. It will include interactive experiences, such as the PUMA Arena for testing football skills and a 360-degree immersive cinema, and opens on December 16 with its first temporary exhibition on Pep Guardiola.

Gosling added: "We're proud to make the store a central part of this next chapter for the Campus, and we can't wait for the Museum Experience to open in December, in the same building as the store – giving fans a truly connected experience when they spend time with us." The City Store is at Medlock Square, Etihad Campus, 212 Alan Turing Wy, Manchester, M11 3DS.
