Home Bargains 99p spray 'smells like' £265 perfume

Home Bargains shoppers can pick up a "luxurious" women's body spray for just shy of £1, with some claiming the affordable bottle smells "just like" Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum, which can cost up to £265.

The Rouge Body Mist by Designer Fragrances is on sale at Home Bargains for 99p. The 250ml spray is available online and is expected to be stocked in stores across the UK in the personal care section.

What Home Bargains says about the spray

Describing the product online, Home Bargains said: "Elevate your scent game with the Designer Fragrances Body Mist in Rouge! This 250ml spray envelops you in a luxurious blend of Moroccan spices and floral jasmine, perfect for a refreshing burst of elegance anytime."

The retailer adds that the bottle is designed to hold an "intense, gorgeously rich scent". The store's Designer Fragrances brand is known for being inspired by luxury perfumes while offering bottles at significantly lower prices.

Shoppers compare it to a luxury perfume

People online have been comparing the bargain option to Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Baccarat Rouge. A bottle of that luxury perfume can be bought for £265 at John Lewis.

John Lewis describes the perfume as "a flowery fragrance with amber and woody notes". It adds: "Unique amongst woody floral fragrances, this scent releases a poetic alchemy, a highly condensed and graphic olfactory signature. Breezy jasmine facets, radiant saffron boost the ambergris mineral notes and the woody tones of freshly-cut cedar."

Using this description, it is clear the luxury perfume and the alternative share similarities. One TikTok user (@Aislespy.ne) claims it "smells so similar", while another (@Lesleyannee) posted that the Home Bargains version was "stunning".
