Harry Ramsdens Fish and Chips to Hit 32 Morrisons Cafes, 6 in Scotland
Harry Ramsdens Fish and Chips Coming to Morrisons Cafes

Morrisons is set to introduce the iconic Harry Ramsdens fish and chips to 32 of its cafes across the UK, starting August 10. Six branches in Scotland are among the locations, offering Scots a taste of the beloved British dish.

Scottish locations included

The Scottish cafes are in Kilmarnock, Glasgow, Glenrothes, Johnstone, Hamilton, and Greenock. The move follows a partnership model called "Proudly Serving," which has already allowed Harry Ramsdens to be available in other retailers like Iceland.

Expansion beyond restaurants

This is the first time Harry Ramsdens will be served in Morrisons cafes, but not the first collaboration between the brands. Since September 2025, a range of Harry Ramsdens products, including battered cod fillets, chunky fish fingers, and steak pies, have been available in Morrisons' chilled section and online.

Harry Ramsdens' chief executive, James Fleming, said the café deal represents a significant opportunity to bring the brand to millions more consumers through a trusted national supermarket. He added that the partnership would widen the reach of its fish and chips while retaining quality and heritage.

Morrisons' excitement

Will Reed, Morrisons' senior café trading manager, said: “Harry Ramsden’s is an iconic British brand, and we’re excited to introduce its famous fish and chips to customers in our cafés this summer.” He noted the retailer wanted to offer shoppers the “comforting taste of a classic chippy tea” with generous portions and value.

Heritage and legacy

Harry Ramsdens has been dubbed "the home of world famous fish and chips" since it began in 1928 as a small wooden hut in Guiseley, West Yorkshire. Founder Harry Ramsden celebrated its 21st anniversary with "the big fry," serving over 1,000 portions in a single day, a world record at the time.

Today, there are eight standalone Harry Ramsdens restaurants, all south of the border, but its products are stocked in over 2,000 stores across nine countries.
