Farmfoods, the popular frozen food and grocery retailer, is closing its standalone store in Seaham, County Durham, on Sunday, June 28. However, this closure brings good news for locals as the supermarket chain will reopen in larger premises just days later.
Half-Price Closing Down Sale
On its final day, the current Farmfoods branch will hold a 50 per cent off sale on all stock. Customers can grab bargains before the doors shut for good at the existing location.
New Store Opening July 2
The new store will open on Thursday, July 2, at 8am in the former B&M store at Byron Place Shopping Centre. This relocation and upsizing will offer a wider range of products, including frozen food, groceries, chilled foods, bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as household and other items.
The move is expected to create seven new jobs for the local community, boosting employment in the area.
Store Opening Hours
- Monday to Saturday: 8am to 9pm (weekdays) and 8pm (Saturday)
- Sunday: 11am to 5pm
A Farmfoods spokesperson said: "Our new shop in Seaham at the Byron Place Shopping Centre will open Thursday, July 2 at 8am. Our current shop will close on Sunday, June 28, following a 50 per cent off all stock sale that day."
Farmfoods operates over 300 stores across the UK, known for offering bargain frozen food, groceries, household and beauty products. The North East branch upgrade reflects the chain's commitment to serving the community with improved facilities.
