Denise Welch-approved Boots serum reduces wrinkles for £18.71

Boost Lab's Collagen Firming Serum, a brand favoured by ITV's Loose Women star Denise Welch, is now available exclusively at Boots for £18.71, reduced from £24.95. The brand describes the product as the 'needle-free firming step' in beauty routines.

Following the success of its Neck Firming Serum, which sells roughly one unit every minute in Australia and has amassed over 1,500 five-star reviews, Boost Lab has brought its collagen serum to the UK. Denise Welch is a known fan of the brand, 'swearing by' their Neck Firming Serum.

Formulation and Key Benefits

The Firming Serum is formulated with Collagen Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Ginkgo Leaf Extract and Collagen Amino Acids, and enhanced with the brand's proprietary ElastafirmX technology. It is designed to help visibly smooth wrinkles, lift sagging skin and improve firmness. Other key benefits include supporting and helping to maintain collagen, and it is suitable for morning or night use.

Lisa Schweighoffer, co-founder of Boost Lab, said: "Many products claim to boost collagen, but our Collagen Firming Serum goes a step further. With ElastafirmX, it not only supports collagen production but also helps maintain those visible improvements, so skin stays firmer, smoother and more youthful-looking over time."

Trial Results and Shopper Feedback

Before launching, the brand sent the serum to 101 Australian women for honest, unfiltered feedback. The results showed that 95% agreed it absorbed quickly and seamlessly, 84% agreed their skin felt more hydrated after four weeks, and 83% said their skin felt calmer and more balanced, and felt and looked smoother, according to the brand.

One trial participant said: "This serum was such a joy to use. After a few weeks, my skin feels firmer, smoother and really quite silky - this is definitely a product I'll be repurchasing."

Alternatives at Sephora and LookFantastic

As an alternative, Sephora has the Biossance Firm and Lift Dual Serum (30ml) for £54. This serum is said to visibly lift areas prone to deep lines through an actives-packed formula. The listing says its innovative Hydralift Complex includes a powerful blend of ingredients to help reduce visible wrinkles and soothe skin. It also has hyaluronic acid to help boost hydration and squalane to 'increase the potency of the benefits'.

At LookFantastic, there's the Espa Tri-Active Lift and Firm Intensive Serum (25ml) for £49.60, down from £62. This is described as a 'powerful age-defying serum' to help restore the look of the skin's firmness, elasticity and bounce back.

Shopper Reviews

The Boost Lab Collagen Firming Serum from Boots has been rated highly by shoppers. One said: "I have only been using this for one month and I can already see and feel the difference. My skin is smoother and more hydrated. My skin feels less crinkled."

A second said: "This is the bees knees, ladies. It is a lovely product that feels nice on the skin, not sticky. It makes my skin feel soft and smooth and has smoothed down my fine lines and wrinkles. My skin feels firmer and more lifted. It's also in a convenient pump bottle."

Others left some feedback and deducted stars, however. This shopper said in their four-star review: "Makes my skin feel silky smooth. You only need a couple of drops, so it's really good value. Haven't been using it long enough to see a major difference, but I can see minor changes in wrinkle reduction."

Overall, though, most shoppers were pleased with their purchase. This person added: "Do you get injections? This is what I am now getting asked after using this product alongside the Collagen Plump Eye Cream. I am proud to say, other than using these products, I get no outside help in my skincare - that's how happy I am with this product. A little goes a long way. Such an amazing product that's affordable and effective."
