Burger King has opened its first-ever restaurant in Chorlton, Manchester, today (August 7), and is marking the occasion by giving away 1,000 free burgers and 100 free tote bags to customers.
Freebies for the first customers
The first 1,000 customers will receive a free Whopper, Plant-Based Whopper, Chicken Royale or Vegan Royale. The first 100 customers through the doors will also get a free tote bag.
Restaurant manager excited
Restaurant Manager at Burger King Chorlton, Ben, said: "My team and I can't wait to welcome everyone through our doors and become part of the Chorlton community. It's incredibly exciting to open Burger King UK's first restaurant in Chorlton, and we're looking forward to celebrating with local residents by giving away 1,000 of our iconic burgers."
Former KFC site
The new restaurant takes over the former KFC site on Barlow Moor Road, which closed in March after 32 years. KFC confirmed that all staff from the Barlow Moor site have been relocated to nearby stores.
A KFC spokesperson said: "Our Barlow Moor Road restaurant has had a cracking 32-year run, but all good things must come to an end. After more than three decades of serving up our famous fried chicken to the local community, the restaurant has closed its doors. The good news is that South Manchester KFC fans won’t have to go far for their finger lickin’ favourites. The fryers at our nearby Sale restaurant are fired up and ready to go!"
Opening hours and jobs
The new Burger King opens at 10am on Friday and will be open until 9pm. Thereafter, it will be open Monday to Sunday from 8am to 11pm. The store is also creating 21 new jobs.
