Boots has cut the price of the Remington Shine Therapy Hair Straightener S8500 from £79 to £21.99 as part of its limited-time Star Gift promotion, saving shoppers £57.01 on the styling tool ahead of Christmas.
The deal is one of the retailer's rotating Star Gift offers, which shoppers track for savings on gifts and stocking fillers. The end date for this promotion has not been announced, though such offers typically run for around a week.
Straightener features and claims
According to the product listing on the Boots website, the straighteners feature Advanced Ceramic coated plates infused with Moroccan Argan Oil, Vitamin E, conditioners and moisturisers. The description says the micro conditioners are emitted through the plates onto the hair when heated, leaving it "intensely glossy and in 88% better condition, softer and straighter."
The device offers nine temperature settings, floating plates for even pressure, and a 15-second heat-up time. The listing suggests lower temperatures for sensitised or damaged hair and higher settings for thicker hair.

Another commented: "I always used GHD's and now use Dyson hair straighteners. I bought these for holidays etc however after trying them I'm struggling to go back to the Dyson. They are absolutely fab!"
A less positive review noted the straighteners were not suited to wavy hair, while another four-star reviewer flagged the lack of a heat protection mat. One five-star reviewer said the straighteners outperformed their GHDs on thick, wavy hair.
