The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has confirmed it will close 150 of its stores across the country. A total of 87 shops were confirmed for closure and will have their last day of trading in March 2027. The remaining stores are under review and could be closed by March 2028, according to charity representatives.
Stores affected across England, Scotland and Wales
Stores in England, Scotland, and Wales were tipped for closure, Retail Gazette reported. Rising operating costs and donation habits has made some stores financially unsustainable, according to the outlined restructuring programme.
British Heart Foundation chief executive Dr Charmaine Griffiths confirmed that the charity is facing the same "challenging trading environment" as other high street stores.

Dr Griffiths said: "Our shops mean so much to our colleagues, brilliant volunteers and communities across the UK.
"They are places where people come together to donate, shop and volunteer, helping to make a real difference to lives affected by cardiovascular disease. We know this will be a difficult time for our dedicated colleagues and volunteers in affected stores and emphasise our deep appreciation and gratitude for all they have done for BHF and the communities they serve.
"Like most retailers, we are facing an exceptionally challenging trading environment."
