Homeowners are praising a 'brilliant' electric-free hack to banish mould and damp this winter, with Argos shoppers able to pick up dehumidifiers for less than 1p each.
Argos is stocking a 20-pack of Harbour Housewares Interior Dehumidifiers for £15.99. However, first-time TopCashback sign-ups who are also new Argos customers can get the dehumidifiers for just 19p after cashback — working out at less than 1p per unit.
How the cashback deal works
Those who are new to TopCashback but already existing Argos customers can pick up the dehumidifiers for 92p once cashback has been applied. Shoppers will need to pay the full £15.99 upfront, but this money will be returned as cashback to their TopCashback account, ready to be transferred to a bank account or PayPal.
Guidance from Gov.uk states that 'damp and mould primarily affect the airways and lungs' and could also cause issues for the eyes and skin.
How the dehumidifiers work
The Harbour Housewares Interior Dehumidifiers contain hydrophilic crystals engineered to absorb up to three times their weight in airborne moisture. Featuring a straightforward design, users simply need to peel back the foil wrapper on top of the unit.
The dehumidifiers merely need to be positioned on a flat, level surface in areas where dampness is most problematic, with the manufacturer pledging noticeable humidity improvements in as little as one week. They can be deployed in any room, including garages, bedrooms, living rooms, caravans, and even cupboards.
Shopper reviews and alternatives

Another added: "Arrived in good time. I use them in our static caravan, perfect for keeping the smell of damp away." A third said: "Great cheap price does the job of helping with damp."
A fourth added: "Arrived promptly and seem efficient in removing moisture and smell nice." While a fifth said: "Handy for every room if need be and unobtrusive." A sixth said: "Brilliant for condensation to put near windows or leave in a room, especially those colder months."
However, another customer wrote: "I wish I’d stayed with my original ones you get what you pay for cheaper is not always best." Another added: "The scent does not last long."
