Liverpool have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye, as the Reds look to secure the 18-year-old along with his team-mate Bradley Barcola. The move comes after a relatively quiet transfer window for the club under manager Andoni Iraola.
Agreement with Mbaye
According to Fabrice Hawkins, Liverpool have agreed financial terms and a five-year contract with Mbaye. The youngster, who has also attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen, is now reportedly no longer considering a move to the Bundesliga side following Liverpool's approach.
Mbaye is expected to command a transfer fee of between £30 million and £45 million, according to TEAMtalk.
Barcola pursuit
Barcola, 23, has been linked with a move to Merseyside throughout the summer. PSG initially valued the winger at around £145 million but have since lowered their asking price to approximately £120 million after signing Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts.
If Liverpool were to sign both players, the combined cost could reach around £165 million, though PSG might reduce the total slightly as part of a combined deal.
Potential exits
Additional departures from Liverpool could be arranged before next month's transfer deadline. Cody Gakpo, who signed a new contract last year keeping him at the club until 2030, has been tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur. Personal terms are believed to have been settled, with negotiations ongoing over a fee that could reach £70 million.
Curtis Jones could also leave, with Inter Milan interested, but only if they meet Liverpool's £34 million valuation despite the midfielder having less than a year remaining on his contract.
