The January transfer window is approaching its final days, with clubs across Scotland and beyond making their moves. Celtic are closing in on Bosnia-Herzegovina playmaker Ermin Mahmic in a deal understood to be worth £8.5 million, while Rangers are edging closer to a deal for Girona's Kim Min-su.
Celtic's busy window
Celtic have been active in the market and are also looking for left-back cover for Kieran Tierney, with Chelsea defender Landon Emenalo a target in that position. Gvidas Gineitis remains another long-term target for the Hoops.
Meanwhile, Viljami Sinisalo kept another clean sheet as Celtic beat LASK 3-0 on Wednesday night. After a third shutout in four games, the Finland international is determined to stay in goal, though he is aware he could face a battle to keep hold of the No.1 jersey.
Rangers and Hearts moves
Rangers are looking to add more wingers, and Record Sport understands a deal for Girona's Kim Min-su is edging closer. Talks over a potential return for Vaclav Cerny have also taken place with Besiktas, while Portland Timbers striker Kevin Kelsy is under consideration.
Hearts have agreed a deal with Rhode Island FC for striker JJ Williams ahead of their Conference League playoff second leg against Rapid Vienna, although the frontman will not be eligible for that match.
Other Scottish clubs active
Dundee added Swiss youth international Bradley Fink before Saturday's derby win at Tannadice, while rivals Dundee United have offered Will Ferry a new contract in hopes of keeping him. Aberdeen's clear-out continues, with more names set to follow Scottish Cup hero Dimitar Mitov out of the door.
Motherwell boss Alfred Johansson addressed speculation surrounding Lukas Fadinger, who has scored three goals this season. Johansson said: "If I should read everything, all the interest in all of our players because they are performing so good, I would also lose track of my job description. I don't really have much to say about that. What I can say is that we have a lot of good players and there will always be clubs interested, 100%."
McCoist on Rangers injury blow
Ally McCoist described Youssef Chermiti's situation at Rangers as "an absolute disaster." The Ibrox side rejected a bid in the region of £22 million from Galatasaray, only for the striker to suffer a serious ACL injury against Hibs the following day, ending any chance of a fee this summer.
