Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has confirmed the club's interest in Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones as the player enters the final year of his contract at Anfield. Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Ausilio stated: 'Curtis Jones, we are paying attention to him. We didn't hide. We understand what the developments will be.'
Jones, an academy graduate, has made 228 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 22 goals. He played more minutes than ever before in the 2025/26 season but struggled to secure a regular starting spot under former manager Arne Slot, often being deployed at right-back before Slot's dismissal last weekend. Incoming boss Andoni Iraola is expected to be active in the transfer market this summer.
The 25-year-old has been linked with both Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur in previous transfer windows. His contract situation has attracted attention, and Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa revealed that Jones has been asking about life in Italy. 'Jones only asked me how life is in Italy,' Chiesa told Gazzetta dello Sport. 'I told him you live very well and the weather is better than Liverpool. Jones is technically very strong, Inter are right to think about him.'
Jones' Career at Liverpool
Jones has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and two League Cups with Liverpool. However, injuries and competition for places under both Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot have prevented him from establishing himself as a consistent starter in his preferred midfield role. He scored the final goal of Slot's tenure in a 1-1 draw with Brentford on the final day of the season.
International Career
The midfielder earned his first England cap in late 2024 under interim manager Lee Carsley, scoring on his debut against Greece. However, he has since fallen out of favor under Thomas Tuchel and has not added to his six caps in the past 12 months.
Chiesa, who is also linked with a return to Serie A, praised Jones' technical ability and hinted that a move to Italy could be beneficial. 'As for Alisson, from what I hear he stays in England, but we will see. He is one of the best five goalkeepers in the world,' Chiesa added.
