Despite these additions, manager Michael Carrick appears keen to further bolster his midfield options, with Kone identified as a key target over recent weeks.
Kone's performances for France at the World Cup in 2026 have reportedly increased his market value. Initially carrying a €50 million (£42.5 million) price tag, Roma are now believed to be demanding €60 million (£51 million) following his displays in the tournament, where Les Bleus reached the semi-finals before losing to Spain and then falling to England in the third-place play-off.
