Micah Richards: Elliot Anderson Prefers Man City Over Man Utd for Champions League Dream

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes Elliot Anderson will choose City over Manchester United, citing the club's infrastructure and winning culture as decisive factors. The 23-year-old Nottingham Forest midfielder is a primary target for United's midfield rebuild, but Richards claims Anderson's preference is a move to the Etihad.

United have agreed a £35million deal for Atalanta's Ederson but seek another midfielder, possibly two if Manuel Ugarte departs. Former captain Gary Neville called Anderson a 'dream signing' for United. However, City made the first move with an offer rejected; Forest reportedly demand £120million.

City are entering a post-Pep Guardiola era, with Bernardo Silva and John Stones also leaving. Richards told Metro: 'What City have done is build an environment where top players still want to head there regardless of the manager. The infrastructure is there... you would choose Manchester City over anywhere else.'

Richards added: 'If you are hedging your bets, you want to be playing with that calibre of player where you know you are always going to be challenging for a trophy.' He described Anderson as his 'no1 pick' for City, praising his football intelligence and versatility as a No.6 or No.8.
