Tesco has announced it will hire 28,000 temporary staff to manage the busy festive season. The supermarket says it wants to hear from anyone wishing for a job this Christmas.
Roles will 'mainly' involve working in Tesco Superstores and Extra stores, either serving customers or picking items for home delivery. Shifts are available throughout the day, including early mornings and evenings, and applicants 'can find an opportunity that suits them'.
Pay and application details
Some roles are already open, with more being added throughout October. Pay starts at £13.28 per hour (£14.55 inside the M25), plus a night shift boost of £2.35.
No CV is required to apply. Interested candidates can find roles and apply at https://www.tesco.com/careers/en-GB/festive. Interviews are held in person and last 30 minutes.
Permanent job opportunities
Tesco, which made the announcement on October 3, says there will be chances to move into permanent jobs after the festive season where positions come up.
