Morgan Rogers has played down speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal, insisting his focus is solely on England's World Cup campaign. The Aston Villa midfielder, 23, has been linked with a big-money switch to the newly crowned Premier League champions, with Mikel Arteta reportedly placing him high on his summer transfer wishlist.
Rogers, who scored ten goals and provided six assists in the Premier League last season, helped Villa end their 30-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League. His form has attracted interest from Arsenal, with reports suggesting the Gunners have held preliminary talks with his representatives. However, any deal could cost over £80 million, with Villa keen to keep their star man.
Speaking from England's World Cup training camp in Florida, Rogers said: 'You hear it, of course you do. You can't help not hearing it. You know it's there, but you've got to use it in a positive way.' He added that transfer rumours no longer affect him, having learned to treat them as 'noise'.
Rogers also dismissed the idea that he is competing with Jude Bellingham for the No.10 role, stating: 'I think we can definitely play together. I'd love to play together. I want to play with England's best players.'
Former Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey urged Rogers to think carefully before leaving, noting he is 'top of the pile' at Villa and questioning where he would fit in at Arsenal. Rogers' contract at Villa runs until June 2031.
