Plusnet unveils 'cheapest-ever' broadband deal before Black Friday

Plusnet has undercut its biggest rivals by unveiling its 'cheapest-ever' broadband deal ahead of Black Friday. The budget-friendly provider, part of the BT family, has just launched a major rebrand and is celebrating by cutting prices in the run-up to the peak sales season.

Lowest price for Full Fibre 145

As part of a 'Massive Plus, Massive Value' campaign, Plusnet's Full Fibre 145 is now £21.99 per month, the equivalent of roughly 76p per day. This is said to be the provider's 'lowest ever price' for these speeds and delivers 145Mbps for the same price as 74Mbps.

This 24-month plan works out both cheaper and faster than comparable deals from Sky, where £24 per month offers slower 100Mbps speeds. It also beats Virgin Media, which charges £23.99 for its 132Mbps service.

Free broadband giveaway and reward cards

As well as cutting prices, Plusnet is giving away a year of free broadband to 100 existing customers, delivering potential savings worth hundreds of pounds. It's also dishing out reward cards loaded with up to £75 on select packages, available to spend online at countless retailers.

This includes its super-fast Full Fibre 500 at £25.99 and Full Fibre 900 plan at £27.99. Plusnet has recently joined many major brands in adopting the One Touch Switch scheme, which means customers no longer have to contact their current provider.

Instead, Plusnet will do the leg work to make the changeover as seamless as possible. There is one catch though, as Plusnet has announced its monthly prices will increase by £4 on March 31 each year. This includes for billpayers tied into an existing contract.

Alternative deals and customer feedback

Elsewhere, some shoppers could secure a cheaper deal at Community Fibre, which offers 150Mbps for £19 and 500Mbps for £21. However, this provider only serves London and select south east areas, so not everyone will be eligible for these deals.

For more nationwide coverage, TalkTalk now offers 'smarter' adaptive WiFi, which automatically adjusts the speeds from 55Mbps to 900Mbps to match a household's needs. This new service adapts based on a particular address and home layout, with prices from £28 per month.

Plusnet has racked up thousands of five-star reviews on Trustpilot. One customer said: "Efficient, professional service. Installation procedure excellent. Everything clearly explained and advised on all aspects. Very happy."

Another said: "Router arrived quickly, very easy to set up and get connected. Great service and kept informed with detailed communication each step of the way."

Despite praising Plusnet's 'great' service, one reviewer knocked a star off their review for the time it took to receive their router, saying: "It took so long to actually receive my new router, it took four phone calls before it was finally sent. Apart from that the service was great and everyone I contacted was polite and helpful."

While this happy customer said: "Just moved house and Plusnet delivered a great service reconnecting us very quickly, with no fuss and clear instructions on what we needed to do. Great job."
