Well-known pubs in Newcastle and Gateshead are offering drinks at just £1 for one day only, but customers need to act fast as the deal runs only on June 9.
Fitzgeralds Reopens with Bargain Drinks
Fitzgeralds in Wardley, Gateshead, which reopened after The Green shut earlier this year, is participating in the promotion. The pub was rebranded to honor the 100th birthday of its owners, Sir John Fitzgerald, now under the Ladhar Group. After a major refurbishment, it opened at Easter and has quickly become popular for Sunday dinners.
Other Pubs Joining the Promotion
The Bridge Hotel in Newcastle city centre and the Twin Farms in Kenton Bank Foot are also slashing prices. The deal includes pints of Carling, Coors, John Smiths, Aspalls, Brew York Maris the Otter, Anarchy Brew Co Centenary, and house spirits like Jack Daniels, Bacardi, Smirnoff, and Gordon's gin. Alcohol-free options include 0% Heineken, Birra Moretti Zero, Coca Cola Zero, Diet Coke, and lemonade.
Celebrating 100 Years
Barry Ladhar of the Ladhar Group said: "When we acquired Sir John Fitzgerald in December 2020, the hospitality industry was facing one of the most challenging periods. Despite that, we believed in the strength of this business. Reaching 100 years is a remarkable milestone. We see ourselves as custodians of a proud North East institution."
The promotion marks the centenary of Sir John Fitzgerald, with the Ladhar Group investing significantly in the estate over the past five years.
