Cheryl recreates iconic milk meme for Tesco on Deliveroo campaign
Cheryl recreates 2009 milk meme in Tesco Deliveroo ad

Cheryl has finally solved the milk-run dilemma that has haunted her for 17 years, teaming up with Deliveroo to recreate one of British pop culture's most enduring memes. Back in 2009, the Girls Aloud star famously lamented the price of fame by admitting she could no longer nip to the garage in her pyjamas for a pint of milk, even if she wanted to.

The relatable confession has been shared online ever since, becoming a staple of British internet humour. Now, coinciding with her much-anticipated return to television screens, the singer has poked fun at the viral quote in a new campaign marking the national rollout of Tesco on Deliveroo.

A Reprise of the Classic Moment

In the reprise of the classic moment, the Under The Sun singer is pictured lounging in her pyjamas with a fresh cup of tea in hand, having bypassed the petrol station entirely by getting a pint of milk delivered straight to her door.

Reflecting on the quote's longevity, Cheryl said she had no idea the 2009 confession would have such a long shelf life. "I can't believe it's still doing the rounds, but we've had a good laugh giving it a glow up all these years later," she said. "At least I no longer have that dilemma with Tesco now on Deliveroo – so nothing stands between me and my morning cuppa."

Limited-Edition Merchandise Bundle

To celebrate the partnership, Deliveroo has also launched a limited-edition 'Cheryl-Skimmed' merchandise bundle for fans wanting to replicate her cosy night in. The giveaway package includes a pair of teal silky pyjamas and a bespoke ceramic milk jug hand-signed by the star herself.

Suzy McClintock, VP Consumer at Deliveroo, noted that regardless of whether someone is a pop star or not, nobody actually enjoys making a dash to the garage in their nightwear when the fridge runs dry. She added: "Pop star or not, nobody enjoys nipping to the garage in their PJs for a pint of milk. That's why we've recreated Cheryl's iconic meme, this time with the milk delivered. With Tesco now on Deliveroo across the nation, thousands of everyday essentials can be delivered straight to your door - milk very much included."

How to Enter the Prize Draw

Fans hoping to win one of the limited-edition Cheryl-Skimmed bundles will be automatically entered into a prize draw when they place a Tesco order worth at least £15 via Deliveroo between 28 and 30 October, subject to geographical restrictions and delivery fees.
