Tottenham Eye Double Swoop for Man City Duo Savinho and Marmoush

Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for Savinho and Omar Marmoush to cap off a summer of big spending. It's been a window to remember for Spurs fans, who have already seen a number of high-profile acquisitions.

Sandro Tonali arrived in a £100million move from Newcastle United, while Mateus Fernandes landed in an £85m deal with West Ham United. Jan Paul van Hecke was also snapped up for £52m from Brighton and Hove Albion. That's not to mention the arrivals of Marco Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka as free agents. However, it appears as though the executives in north London are far from finished.

Discussions Progressing for Double Transfer

According to the Athletic, discussions between the Lilywhites and Manchester City are progressing, with the aim of completing a double transfer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before next month's deadline. Savinho has apparently been considered expendable at the Etihad Stadium, omitted from Enzo Maresca's matchday squad during last weekend's 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.

Spurs were understood to be keen on securing the Brazilian winger 12 months ago, with a price tag of approximately £43million being discussed. However, City ultimately refused to part with Savinho, instead tying him down to a new deal running until 2031 as the window drew to a close.

Marmoush Also in Spurs' Sights

Marmoush has similarly found his future in Greater Manchester the subject of speculation due to restricted playing opportunities. The Egyptian striker spent considerable portions of last season as understudy to Erling Haaland, and may view a fresh challenge as a route to more regular action.

This follows De Zerbi's comments from late last month hinting that another transfer "bomba" is imminent, having already splashed well over £200m on fresh recruits. The Italian manager told football.london: "In the transfer market when I want one player I become like a shark, no chance to say no. The transfer market, it's not finished for sure, but we completed 60% of our project in the transfer market. Now we have another bomba."

Spurs Aim to Avoid Repeating Last Season

In a bid to avoid a repeat of last season's disappointing 17th-place finish, Spurs have practically undergone a complete first-team overhaul of their defence and midfield. And now, it appears as though the front line is also set for marked improvement - with Savinho and Marmoush highlighted as potential arrivals.

Whether that "bomba" materialises in the shape of Savinho and Marmoush is yet to be determined. Though, it's evident that Spurs haven't concluded their summer dealings, with ambitions of re-establishing themselves as genuine Premier League challengers once more this coming campaign.
