Fylde Coast Homes acquires Stephen Tew Estate Agents

Fylde Coast Homes Group has acquired Stephen Tew Estate Agents as part of its expansion across the Fylde Coast. The deal brings the Blackpool-based agency into the growing property group, which is led by directors Ged Mills and Steve Richardson.

Stephen Tew Estate Agents will keep its name and branding, and founder Stephen Tew will remain involved as head of sales and operations. The acquisition comes two years after Tew received an 11-year company director disqualification following an Insolvency Service investigation into Covid Bounce Back loans.

At the time, Tew described the matter as a “simple clerical error” and maintained that he had done nothing deliberately wrong. The agency subsequently continued trading under a new company director, with Tew remaining in the business as an estate agent.

Brand to remain following takeover

Fylde Coast Homes Group said the acquisition would provide additional investment and resources while preserving the agency’s existing identity. In a joint statement, Mills and Richardson said: “This acquisition is not about changing what already works.

“The Stephen Tew brand will remain, Stephen will continue to play a leading role within the business as Head of Sales and Operations, and customers will continue to deal with the team they already know and trust.”

The directors said the acquisition formed part of their strategy to expand through established local property businesses. They added: “What becoming part of Fylde Coast Homes Group does provide is additional investment, resources and support to help the business continue to grow and develop over the years ahead.”

Tew to continue leading sales

Tew welcomed the deal and confirmed that he would remain closely involved in the agency’s operations. He said: “It was extremely important to me that the brand, our team and the way we look after our customers remained at the heart of the business, and that is exactly what this partnership allows us to do.

“I will remain fully involved in the business, leading sales and operations, and our customers can expect the same personal service and local expertise they have always received, now with the additional backing and resources of the wider Fylde Coast Homes Group.”

The acquisition adds another estate agency business to Fylde Coast Homes Group’s portfolio as it seeks to strengthen its presence across the region. The companies have not disclosed the purchase price or other financial terms of the deal.
