Police have cordoned off a section of Birmingham city centre following a stabbing that left a victim with life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred in Centenary Square, near the Library of Birmingham, on Thursday afternoon.
Victim Hospitalised
A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening stab wounds. A second man sustained injuries to his hand and is being treated at the scene.
Police Investigation
A West Midlands Police spokesperson stated: "We are currently at the scene of a stabbing in Centenary Square, Birmingham. A man in his 20s has been taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening stab wounds. A second man has sustained wounds to his hand. A cordon is in place while we carry out enquiries."
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to call 101, quoting log 2914 of 11 June.
The area remains sealed off as forensic teams examine the scene. Local residents and visitors have been advised to avoid the area until further notice.
