Arsenal Plot £34m Transfer for Christos Tzolis as Arteta Plans Summer Boost
Arsenal Explore £34m Tzolis Transfer as Arteta Plans Summer

Arsenal are reportedly plotting a £34m move for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis as Mikel Arteta ramps up his summer transfer plans. The 24-year-old Greek international has enjoyed a remarkable campaign, scoring 43 goals for Club Brugge over two seasons, having previously netted 23 times for Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany's second division during the 2023-24 season.

Arsenal's Transfer Targets

According to The Athletic, the Gunners are pursuing Tzolis, with the move having no bearing on any potential deal for Morgan Rogers. Arteta's side are eager to inject quality into the attacking third and have also been linked with Rogers and Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola. Either of those players could command fees approaching £80m, representing another substantial outlay from the Arsenal hierarchy.

Arsenal spent approximately £250m during last summer's transfer window, securing the signatures of Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to enhance their forward options, reports Football London. Yet Arteta is determined to continue strengthening and wants reinforcements on the left side of attack. The Gunners have also reportedly approached Juventus about Turkish international Kenan Yildiz's availability, only to be informed he is not up for sale.

Tzolis Open to Champions League Move

A transfer for Tzolis would represent astute business considering his prolific record in recent campaigns, and he has already indicated his willingness to join a Champions League club. When asked by Nieuwsblad last month what calibre of club might tempt him away from Club Brugge, Tzolis responded: "It will have to be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain, or Italy. Or well, if PSG comes knocking, I'll probably go too, right? (laughs) Then I'll say I love France. But only PSG is a better option in France than Club Brugge. There might be a few more possibilities in the Premier League."

Morgan Rogers Also on Arsenal's Radar

England international Morgan Rogers is another summer transfer target for Arsenal, with Arteta reportedly keen for the club to secure the 23-year-old, who has excelled for Aston Villa this campaign. Rogers is currently away with the Three Lions and appears poised to feature prominently in Thomas Tuchel's plans.

Following the Champions League final loss to PSG, Arteta urged the Arsenal board to demonstrate their intent. "First of all, I will take a few days with my family and then we will start the process to review what we have done," he stated after the defeat. "We will have to start making some very important decisions if we want to reach another level. We are going to have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing it, but it is going to demand us to be very ambitious, very fast and very smart."
