The newest Wagamama restaurant in the North East is set to open at Silverlink Shopping Park on Monday, August 10th, following a full renovation of the unit that previously housed Frankie and Benny's and Cassia's.
Preview events were held over the weekend, offering a first look at the new location, which marks the third Wagamama in the region, joining those at the Metrocentre and Eldon Square. The new restaurant makes the chain's food more accessible to people in the North Tyneside area.
A Fresh Interior
Upon entering, the interior is unrecognisable from its Italian restaurant days, with tiles and dark wood replaced by a light, airy atmosphere. The decor is typical Wagamama: simple, modern, and stylish, with a mix of bar seating, lower tables, and a few booths.
Same Beloved Flavours
During the preview, the full menu was available, but the reviewer opted for their regular order of gyoza and katsu curry to compare directly with other locations. Despite it being opening weekend, the food was prepared to perfection, tasting exactly as expected.
The staff worked as a well-oiled machine, friendly and efficient, even on the first day of previews. The open hatch to the kitchen remains, allowing curious diners to watch the chefs at work.
The opening marks the end of a period of change for the restaurant space at Silverlink, adding another jewel to the retail park's crown.
