Bonfire Night in Rochdale will feature a week of events, with the council again staging three free firework displays in Middleton, Heywood and Rochdale.
Bowlee Community Park, Queens Park Road and Cronkeyshaw Common will host the pyrotechnics, as they did last year. This year, the council is trialling reduced noise firework displays to make the events more accessible to all.
Event schedule and timings
Festivities begin on Monday, November 2 at Bowlee Community Park in Middleton. The next day (Tuesday, November 3) will see Heywood's Queen's Park Road event, followed by the Cronkeyshaw Common event in Syke on Thursday, November 4.
At all three council-run events, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and fireworks will start from 7.30pm. Food and soft drinks will be available to buy. Alcohol will not be on sale, nor will anyone be allowed to bring their own alcohol, fireworks or sparklers. No toilet facilities will be provided at any of the three council-run events.
Travel and other displays
Those planning to attend one of the organised displays have been urged by the council to walk or use public transport if possible due to limited parking availability.
Elsewhere in the borough, Milnrow Cricket Club and Lobden Golf Club in Whitworth are both putting on firework displays on Saturday, November 7.
