Chinese firm Xiaomi has unveiled its latest budget smartphone, the REDMI 17, which packs a massive 7,500mAh battery and costs just £189. The device, set to go on sale later this month in the UK, undercuts many rivals while offering premium features.
Key specs and features
The REDMI 17 includes a 6.9-inch 120Hz display, an AI-powered dual-lens rear camera, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection for enhanced scratch resistance and drop protection. It also features dual stereo speakers, 45W turbo charging, and a MediaTek Helio G91 processor.
Battery life that beats Samsung
Xiaomi claims the phone can deliver up to 28 hours of video playback, 91 hours of music playback, 46 hours of calling, or 12 hours of video recording. This battery capacity significantly exceeds Samsung's typical 5,000mAh batteries found in most of its devices.
Availability and colours
The REDMI 17 will be available later this month in the UK on Amazon in four colours: Black, Deep Blue, Oak Green, and Lotus Purple.
Meanwhile, Samsung has recently released its new range of foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold8, which features an updated design aimed at making it feel more like a tablet when opened, along with an improved Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and a refreshed Galaxy Z Flip8.
