Rockstar Games opened UK pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI at midnight on 25 June, after a wait of more than two and a half years since the first trailer. The game is expected to be one of the biggest gaming launches in history, with orders flooding in across Very, EE, and Amazon. On Amazon, the usual yellow pre-order button has been replaced with a 'see all buying options' link, indicating that stock is running low; the retailer sold out in the US within six hours.
When does GTA VI launch?
Pre-orders are now live, but the official release date is Thursday 19 November 2025. Customers who order the physical edition will receive it a week early, on 12 November, to pre-load the game ahead of launch.

What does the pre-order include?
Initially, fans were surprised to learn that the physical edition would not include a traditional disc, but rather a code in a box. However, Rockstar Games later announced that a disc-based version will be released in December. Once the initial code-in-box copies sell out, the disc edition will become standard.
Players who pre-order on digital storefronts for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S receive a free month of GTA+. Anyone who pre-orders or buys the game before November 20 will also get the Vintage Vice City Pack, a collection of throwback items based on the classic Vice City game.
How much will the game cost?
Despite earlier analyst predictions of a £150 price tag due to an estimated $1-2bn development budget, the standard edition is priced at £69.99, and the ultimate edition at £89.99 — consistent with other PS5 games released this year.
