Channel 4 has released a first look at the second series of its gripping cyber-thriller 'The Undeclared War', which originally aired in 2024. The show, featuring Simon Pegg and Adrian Lester, follows a team of analysts at GCHQ working to prevent cyber-attacks during a British general election.
Simon Pegg Returns as Danny Patrick
Simon Pegg reprises his role as Danny Patrick, the director of operations at GCHQ. Sian Brooke joins the cast as his wife Barbara, an analyst and former MI16 operative. The trailer shows a corrupted screen and a voice asking what has happened, with Danny warning: "This is a potentially nuclear piece of malware." A voiceover explains this is the cyber equivalent of an armed attack, and tensions escalate as Danny reveals there is a mole in GCHQ.
Higher Stakes and New Threats
The trailer depicts stressed and anxious characters trying to identify who is under attack. Another character mentions 'serious allegations' against a 'respected colleague'. Channel 4 captioned the Instagram trailer: "New threats. Higher stakes. Cyber-thriller The Undeclared War returns. Coming soon to Channel 4 #TheUndeclaredWar."
