Remove Limescale from Taps and Shower Heads with 2p Cleaning Method
Remove Limescale with 2p Vinegar Cleaning Method

Stubborn limescale on bathroom taps and shower heads can be removed overnight using a simple 2p vinegar solution that leaves fixtures sparkling clean. Redrow collaborated with cleaning specialist Sarah Burton, Director at North West Commercial Cleans, who revealed her preferred overnight bathroom trick.

The Overnight Soaking Method

Sarah said: "My favourite overnight bathroom hack is soaking taps in a simple vinegar and water solution. Fill a sandwich bag with water and a cap of vinegar and secure it around the taps overnight using an elastic band. In the morning, remove the bag and gently brush or wipe the taps clean and let them run for around 60 seconds."

This method costs just 2p per application. A five litre bottle of white vinegar costs £6.99, and only a capful is needed per use.

Additional Cleaning Tips

After buffing the bathroom fittings, Sarah recommends spraying the sink with a scented disinfectant. She said: "It's a small touch, but it leaves the bathroom smelling fresh and welcoming throughout the day." She also suggests cleaning the plastic shower seal with washing up liquid and water to prevent grime and mould buildup.

To keep the bathroom smelling fresh, Sarah advises placing a freshly laundered towel on the radiator. This diffuses a fresh linen scent throughout the room.
