Design Overhaul Based on Customer Feedback
Gymshark's Design Manager, Isla Gilbertson, explained that customer feedback prompted the brand to overhaul the textures and contouring to achieve a better fit around the glutes. The new collection features a host of new colours, including vibrant shades like Butter Yellow and Physical Pink.
The standout piece in the collection is the Lift Seamless Tank with Shelf, priced at £38. The tank features a plunging V-neck and delicate back straps that, when crossed and tightened, transform the fit. It held firm through burpees, sprints, and jump squats without shifting, and the under-bust contouring created a snatched waist.
Support and Coverage: A Mixed Verdict
The new sports bra, also £38, is described as gorgeous with a strappy back design, but its coverage is limited, making it best for those with smaller busts. The leggings, at £54, offer squat-proof coverage and give legs a toned appearance while sculpting the glutes.
For warmer weather, the Lift Seamless 2.0 Mid-Rise Shorts and Tank combo kept the tester cool thanks to sweat-wicking material and four-way, seamless stretch. The shorts stayed in place during a punishing HIIT session, but the fabric did creep up the thighs during heavy cardio. For leg days, they were a total winner.
Versatility Beyond the Gym
The tank top also proved great for hiking, keeping the wearer cool and supported during a strenuous hill walk in 34-degree heat. For those preferring more coverage, the M&S Essential Boxy Vest Top (£10) offers a higher neckline and relaxed fit, but the tester found the Gymshark tank in Butter Yellow paired with Physical Pink shorts felt like wearing pure sunshine.
