Fortunately, a brief teaser trailer during the latest Nintendo Direct, along with several FromSoftware social media posts, have shed light on what to expect and when the network test will take place.
The Duskbloods Closed Network Test Release Window
At the end of the recent trailer, FromSoftware announced plans for a Closed Network Test this summer. Summer officially begins on June 21 in the Northern Hemisphere, so the test could start later this month. Meteorological summer ends on August 31, while astronomical summer ends on September 23. It is likely that the test will occur within the meteorological period, debuting in July or August.
What Is a Closed Network Test and How to Take Part?
Unlike an open beta, a Closed Network Test is invite-only. Players typically need to sign up for a chance to be selected, though FromSoftware has not yet announced entry requirements. The trailer's fine print mentions the need for a Nintendo Account and Online membership for online play. It is possible that all Nintendo Switch Online members could gain entry, or it might be exclusive to Expansion Pack subscribers. FromSoftware shared more details in translated posts on X. The Closed Network Test is for adults only and will allow players to experience Twilight Battles. A translated post reads: "Transcend humanity as the Bloodsworn. Wield eccentric blood powers and experience a small part of what the Dusk Battle has to offer in The Duskbloods network test." Another post states: "In The Duskbloods network test, you can become one of the Bloodkin—those who have gained superhuman powers through special blood—and experience a part of the Twilight Battles."
