A brainteaser from ITV's The 1% Club has left the majority stumped, with only the top 1% of people able to solve it. The puzzle, shared on TikTok, challenges viewers to find a new word that links the capitalised words in the sentence: 'My SON TED ate raw FOOD and got SICK, then went to BED with me by his SIDE.'
The answer is 'sea', as each capitalised word can be preceded by 'sea' to form a new word: season, seated, seafood, seasick, seabed, and seaside. The puzzle is designed to be tricky, and contestants on the show have only 30 seconds to solve it.
Many viewers struggled, with one commenting: 'Son and Ted are both human... the issue is Sickness is not a new word!' However, others found it obvious, questioning why it was deemed a 1% question.
