Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been re-establishing their life in the UK following their recent return, and the real reason behind the move may now have come to light. According to Charlotte Griffiths, Mail on Sunday editor-at-large speaking on Talk TV, the couple are returning for a new Netflix deal in which Prince Harry could make a documentary about his mother, Princess Diana.

Griffiths said: “It does explain, at long last, why they have come over to the UK. We have all been wondering and thinking it - it can’t just be the education of their kids, it can’t just be the King - there’s always with the Sussexes.” She added: “So this would make a lot of sense.”
The Sussexes are reportedly living in the Cotswolds. Prince Harry wants to honour Diana’s legacy “in the most meaningful way”, it is understood, and has reportedly already approached a number of her friends and relatives about taking part in a potential programme, including her brother, Earl Spencer.
Earl Spencer's memoir stance
However, Earl Spencer has revealed in his new memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, that he deliberately chose to write a book rather than appear as what he described as a “talking head” in one of the many productions being planned about his sister. The Earl said he feared documentaries could be driven by a “flawed” agenda set by producers.
Anniversary and royal tensions
On August 31, 1997, Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris. She was in the vehicle with her then-partner, Dodi Fayed. Dodi and the driver died instantly, while Diana, who was 36, was pronounced dead hours later. Next August, in 2027, will mark the 30-year anniversary of the tragic incident.
The Mirror reports that Harry’s plans for a personal documentary are likely to add another layer to tensions within the Royal Family. The documentary has been the subject of speculation. People Magazine reports that no documentary project has yet been finalised or confirmed.
