Sony has confirmed that God of War Laufey will release on February 16, 2027. The announcement was made at a panel during San Diego Comic Con, where series creative lead Cory Barlog also revealed that another Kratos-led God of War game is coming right after Laufey, directly tying into Faye's story.
No New Trailer, Physical Disc Confirmed
There was no new trailer accompanying the news, so fans will have to rely on the 20-minute gameplay reveal from June's State of Play. However, Barlog confirmed that God of War Laufey will be released on a physical disc, as it arrives before Sony’s January 2028 cut-off for physical games on PlayStation consoles.
A Stacked February 2027
February 2027 is shaping up to be a busy month for game releases, with five major titles currently scheduled:
- Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – February 12
- God of War Laufey – February 16
- Persona 4 Revival – February 18
- Fable – February 23
- Metro 2039 – February (exact date TBD)
Some of these games may slip to later dates due to the crowded month, although Fable is likely to stay put after Xbox moved it from late 2026 to avoid Grand Theft Auto 6. Separately, Diablo 4 update 3.1.2 release date and patch notes were also announced.
