A Formula 1 supercomputer has simulated the remaining 12 races of the 2026 season 10,000 times to predict the outcome of both world championships. The data experts at Vision4Sport, who offer luxury F1 hospitality packages, project that Kimi Antonelli will be crowned the sport's youngest-ever champion, despite Lewis Hamilton being tipped for a stellar second half of the season.
Mercedes' current advantage
As it stands, Mercedes lead Ferrari by 72 points in the constructors' championship. In the drivers' standings, Antonelli holds a 50-point lead over Hamilton, with George Russell a further nine points behind.
Projected results for the rest of the season
While Mercedes dominated the first half with eight victories in 11 Grands Prix, the supercomputer predicts Ferrari will shine in the final 12 rounds. Hamilton is projected to win seven Grands Prix and one Sprint race, but it will not be enough to secure an eighth title. Antonelli is predicted to win only two more Sunday races but will finish on 443 points, with Hamilton on 429, missing out by 14 points despite a final-day victory in Abu Dhabi.
Russell, who started the year as pre-season favourite, is predicted to win only one more Grand Prix and finish third with 336 points. Lando Norris is projected to win two more races but finish fifth behind Charles Leclerc. Max Verstappen is expected to go a whole season without a win for the first time in his Red Bull career.
Midfield and constructors' predictions
Oscar Piastri is tipped for just one more podium, while Isack Hadjar will end his debut Red Bull season eighth without a podium. Liam Lawson is projected to beat Pierre Gasly to ninth place.
In the constructors' championship, Mercedes are predicted to take the title with 779 points, 54 ahead of Ferrari. McLaren are projected to finish third, with Red Bull fourth and Racing Bulls leading the midfield. At the back, Aston Martin upgrades are predicted to give Fernando Alonso two more scoring opportunities, while Lance Stroll and the two Cadillac drivers are projected to end the year pointless.
