Call of Duty fans have been diving into the latest content drop in the hit game Black Ops 7. Season 4 is packed with new activities across all three modes on PS5 and Xbox.
New Multiplayer Maps and Modes
The update brings fresh content, including new Multiplayer maps: Liminal (a map that physically reshapes mid-match), Primetime (a Japanese game show obstacle course), and the remastered Black Ops 2 classic Vertigo. Activision has offered exclusive top tips to help you get ahead of rivals.
Endgame: Operation Wall Breaker
The story continues as Karma’s virus is ready to deploy against The Guild. Act III: Operation Wall Breaker tasks you with scouring Avalon for Mapping Data to locate a hidden network hub, breach the firewall, and take down the Command Killer Glitch Fracture.
Top Tip: Pushing through the Glitch Fracture on nightmare difficulty is tough, but defeating the boss with 50/50, Razor, or Faulkner earns unique “Shatter Shock” operator skins and animated weapon camos. Assemble a well-coordinated squad before attempting the breach.
Operator Prestige
Season 4 introduces Operator Prestige for Endgame. Reaching prestige discards your equipped skills and field acquisitions, resetting loadouts to base rarity.
Top Tip: Don’t be afraid to wipe the slate clean. Reaching Prestige 1 grants an extra exotic skill slot, Prestige 2 gives a nightmare skill slot, and Prestige 3 lets you equip a game-changing 4th skill track.
Fresh Abilities and the Guardian Skill Track
The Death Machine major ability offers high damage and massive magazine capacity. Mid-season brings the defensive Guardian Skill Track and the hallucinogenic Psych Grenade minor ability.
Top Tip: Once mid-season hits, have at least one squad member run the Guardian Skill Track. The “Rescue Pulse” ability revives downed allies or lets you be revived in close proximity, a lifesaver during chaotic firefights.
Dynamic and Classic Multiplayer Maps
Three 6v6 maps are available: Primetime (Japanese game show course), Vertigo (remastered skyscraper), and Liminal (Guild procedure room that alters mid-match).
Top Tip: On Liminal, the centre of the map is dictated by a patient's agitation levels. If the subject panics, the red pillar fractures into a crater, throwing up fresh cover and changing sightlines. Adapt your defense on the fly.
A Return to Multiplayer Basics
Returning modes include Blueprint Gun Game and 6v6 Gunfight. The standout is the new Black Ops Classic moshpit mode, featuring simplified movement and stripped-back loadouts on iconic throwback maps.
Top Tip: Leave modern crutches behind for Black Ops Classic. With overclock abilities and Perk Combat Specialty bonuses restricted, rely on tactical positioning, raw gun skill, and solid fundamentals to secure the win.
Zombies: Hell’s Cosiest Cul-de-Sac
Round-based survival takes a twisted turn with Nuked, a corrupted future version of Nuketown. It's a confined map from the cul-de-sac to Trinity Ave, filled with undead and Rad-Hounds.
Top Tip: In tight spaces, mobility is limited. Prioritize finding the Pack-a-Punch machine, Wall Buys, and the Arsenal early. Surviving to Round 50 earns the “Time Out” GobbleGum, but you’ll need heavily upgraded firepower.
Shape Your Path in Rogue Run
Rogue Run is a new permanent roguelite twist on Round-Based Zombies. Start with a common pistol and survive waves of fast-moving undead. After each round, choose from three randomized rewards.
Top Tip: Build your loadout smartly and don't hesitate. You have limited time to choose your reward pedestal before it’s picked for you. Focus on playlist challenges and High Value Targets (Luci, Mal, Mo) to earn permanent cross-playlist upgrades.
Fortune’s Keep Gets a Refresh
The fan-favourite Warzone Resurgence map is back. Fortune’s Keep has been updated for Black Ops 7’s advanced movement, featuring all major POIs plus new micro POIs like Sea Science Aquatic Laboratory and Capt. Bubby’s Chum Haus.
Top Tip: For an early-game advantage, drop onto the Research Vessel. It’s the only POI with a UAV Tower, giving your squad intel to track enemy movements before pushing inland.
Massive 52v52 Carnage in Verdansk
The large-scale Clash mode returns with two teams of 52 Operators in a skirmish across nine Verdansk POIs, including Boneyard, Factory, and Airport.
Top Tip: Treat this as a giant tactical playground. Eliminations earn one point, but capturing Domination points (40 points) and completing Contracts (10 points) guarantee swift victory. Pool cash to buy the devastating VTOL warship.
Game-Changing Warzone Gear
Season 4 introduces new tactical items. The Shadowlink Contract provides a mobile satellite phone for Black Market access, while the Advanced Self Revive is a rare item dropping in Resurgence.
Top Tip: The Advanced Self Revive is your ultimate 'get out of jail free' card. When activated, it grants temporary active camo cloaking. Use this invisibility to crawl behind cover and re-plate armour before the enemy squad finishes you off.
