The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P combines a dual-lens cinematic camera with a lightweight gimbal, offering buttery-smooth 4K video and simplified content creation for vloggers and mobile creators.
Dual-Lens Camera in a Pocket Gimbal
Content creators previously had to choose between a lightweight pocket gimbal for travel shots or heavy cameras for cinematic depth. The Osmo Pocket 4P blends both, making wide-angle and portrait filming accessible in one device, eliminating the need for extra lenses or multiple cameras.
It is wider and heavier than its predecessor, but packs in significantly more features. After testing, these minor setbacks are quickly forgotten given the performance.
Stabilisation and Ease of Use
The standout feature is the 3-axis stabilisation, which delivers seamless, fluid footage even at high speeds. The intelligent subject tracking keeps subjects in focus automatically, reducing the need for manual adjustments. In a test inside a classic VW Beetle at speeds between 40 and 60 mph on a windy road, the video remained smooth and jerk-free.
The Active Tracking 8.0 upgrade enhances solo filming, keeping the subject in frame during quick movements. Gestures are fluid, and tapping the screen tracks the desired subject subtly.
High-End Specs and Battery Life
The device captures 4K video at up to 240 fps and 37MP photos. A simple screen flick powers on and starts recording instantly, with easy switching between landscape and portrait modes.
Battery performance is strong; after 30 minutes of continuous filming, the charge dropped from 100% to 60%, even with accessories attached.
